Labor Day is a federal holiday celebrated on the first Monday of September in the United States. It was created by the labor movement and honors the contributions and achievements of American Workers. The holiday was first celebrated in New York City in 1882 but Oregon was the first state of the US to make it an official public holiday. It also marks the unofficial end of Summer.
